If you’re looking for the perfect lightweight material that not only provides an excellent fit, but also comes in a wide variety of styles and colors, then acetate glasses may be perfect for you! Also referred to as cellulose acetate propionate, this plant-based plastic is hypoallergenic, lightweight, and has cleaner-looking transparency and gloss than other materials. Most daily wearers of eyeglasses appreciate acetate for its lightweight feel and strong durability. This lightweight feel is great because it helps alleviate pressure on the top edge of your ears when wearing them for extended periods. Acetate has long been adopted by eyewear manufacturers worldwide as one of the most versatile materials for eyeglasses. LensDirect offers a wide range of acetate glasses from the world’s best-known brands, including Guess, Lacoste, Nike, Calvin Klein, Vogue, Chloe, Valentino, and Ray-Ban. No matter what your style and preference, LensDirect has the perfect pair of acetate glasses to fit your every look!

Acetate Eyewear Provides The Most Comfortable Fit

Men and women around the world love acetate eyewear for its comfortable feel and wide range of color options, styles, and finishes. Aside from being one of the most comfortable and lightweight materials used in eyewear manufacturing, did you know that cellulose acetate is also an eco-friendly material? Many petroleum-based synthetic products are not only more expensive but also cause greater environmental damage than acetate. Since cellulose acetate is a plant-based plastic made from natural cotton and wood fibers, it tends to leave a much smaller carbon footprint. Because acetate eyewear is made this way, it offers a much lighter and more durable construction.
