DIY: How to Swap Non-Rx Lenses on Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer 53mm

What you’ll need:
- Clean, padded work surface (microfiber towel)
- Microfiber cloth + lens cleaner
- Nitrile gloves (optional for grip/cleanliness)
Before you begin:
- Power the glasses off.
- Work in bright, even light.
- Avoid pressure near the camera/sensor areas. Focus your grip around the bridge and inner eyewire, not the outer corners.
Step-by-step:
- Stabilize the frame
Hold the frame at the bridge with one hand. With the other, place your thumb on the inner lens edge (nose-side). - Pop out the old lens
Apply slow, even pressure from the back of the lens outward, starting at the inner edge and “rolling” toward the top/bottom, then the outer edge. Do not twist the temples or press near the camera modules. - Clean the groove (eyewire)
Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust from the lens groove. Do not use solvents or heat. - Seat the new lens
Align the new lens with the top edge of the eyewire first. Slide that edge into the groove, then roll the lens inward until it fully seats with a gentle “snap.” - Check the seal
Run a fingertip along the rim. The lens should be evenly seated with no gaps. Repeat for the other side. - Final clean
Wipe away fingerprints. Power the glasses back on and confirm camera/sensor areas are clear.
